Diese Erfindung, insbesondere ihre Verwendung bei der Herstellung kleiner tragbarer Radios, veränderte das Familienleben. Mit diesem Gerät könnten sich junge Menschen in ihre eigenen Räume zurückziehen, um ihre eigene Musik zu hören. Und diese Chance nutzten sie eifrig. The erotic and destructive in 1980s rock music. A theoretical and historical analysis. Duran Duran's song 'Hungry Like The Wolf' (1982) explores the theme of lycanthropy, a form of bestiality which itself is an expression of the broader theme of eroticism in the sense of broaching the possibility of unusual, tabooed, or 'perverse' sexual activities. To analyze interests like these, William Graebner argues, we need a theory that might clarify and explain rock music's significance on a cultural level.

Een nieuw schip voor Veronica. In 1964 verhuisde de commerciële zeezender Radio Veronica al haar apparatuur naar een nieuw schip. Veel ruchtbaarheid werd er destijds aan deze operatie niet gegeven. Hans Knot hield de berichtgeving in de pers nauwgezet bij en controleerde het een en ander in lange interviews met Bull Verweij.

Bringing the MV Peace to Israel. After three years in New York harbor, on 16th March 1973, the MV Peace sailed out to her eventual destination, three miles off the coast of Tel-Aviv. There, from 26th May, Abie Nathan's Voice of Peace would air its messages of peace to the Middle East. Engineer Ed Simeone here recalls his memories of a hectic voyage across the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

Reminiscing the final year. Since 1969 hundreds of people have worked for Abie Nathan in his fight for peace — most of them on board the radio ship MV Peace anchored off of the Israeli coast. None of them, though, shared his name — at least until what would prove to be the station's final year. Then Nathan Morley arrived whose first name corresponded with Abie's last name. Nowadays working and living on Cyprus, he wrote down his memories of these days.

Back on the air again. Ten days to remember Radio Veronica. The last time Radio Veronica was on the air now dates back 25 years. In August 1974 the Dutch offshore radio station aired its last programme. This month a group of persons formerly working for the offshore radio station will memorate the station by bringing it back on the air again.

From there it entered the sphere of everyday life and, especially by its use in the production of small portable radios, changed the routines and relations of family life. With that device, young people could retreat to their own spaces to listen to their own music. And so they did. Hans Knot tells us more about the impact of the device.

De vijfde opstart van Radio Caroline. Als we terugkijken in de geschiedenis van Radio Caroline, dat ooit in maart 1964 haar programma's begon vanaf het schip de MV Fredericia voor de kust van Engeland, dan kunnen we de opening van Radio Caroline Nederland, op zaterdag 26 januari 2002 zien als de vijfde serieuze poging het station nieuw leven in te blazen.

The making of the young Paul Alexander. In the late Spring of 1973 two stations, both calling themselves Radio Caroline, were airing their programmes: one in the English language with a Top-40 format, the other in Dutch with an easy-listening format. In those days, Hans Knot frequented the MV Mi Amigo and the Caroline offices at the Van Hoogendorpstraat and befriended many of the people working at these centres of radio-activity. Among them was a young lad by the name of Paul Alexander, or rather Paul Alexander Rusling, who desperately wanted to go out to the ship. Now over thirty years later, he wrote down his memories of those days.

Rare pictures from radio's past: Radio London (6. On full power). Radio London: 6. On full power. In February 1966 agreement was reached over the payment of fees to the Performing Rights Society. These were to be based on a percentage of advertising revenue, rising over a period of three years after which a fixed rate would be introduced. In May 1966 some 50,000 British Pounds were spent to raise the power of the transmitter to 75 kW.

"Spaß! Sie hatten einen irren Spaß daran". Ulf D. Posé gehörte als Pascal Posé zur Diskjockey-Crew des gescheiterten Seesender-Projekts Radio Nordsee. In 1970 arbeitete er dann unter dem Namen Hannibal tatsächlich bei der Offshore-Station RNI. Bis 1980 war er anschließend als Ullrich bei Radio Luxembourg beschäftigt und dann unter seinem eigenen Namen beim WDR. Auf dem Radiotag in Erkrath im September 2003 sprach Martin van der Ven mit ihm.
