The Speed Run
Warning: these videos demonstrate the level of proficiency a student would have after finishing "C++ Fundamentals", Part I of the C++ Programming course. Unfortunately, they don't induce it.For that, study the C++ Annotations. (Merely reading them is not enough.)
We start out with an almost trivial assignment. Here is the shown solution in C. There are more than twenty mistakes and bad practices in there. For exercise, you could try to find some of them yourself.

So we start fixing:
Improve the compile command.
Use C++ headers, and replace #defines with enums.
Use C++ strings instead of NTBSs.
Define variables as late as possible, and make them const if possible.
Fix some style issues.
Introduce some extra name clarity.
Use streams instead of FILE*s.
Miscellaneous cleanup.
Stop cramming all code into a single file. This Makefile is used. Icmake is an alternative.
Actually use classes.
Briefly create a project internal header.
Provide copy/move constructors for classes that need them.
Provide copy/move assignment too.
Reshuffle some I/O functionality for cleaner class and main().
Here is a more acceptable solution.
Note (in 2021) that I didn't actually test it beyond valgrinding main(). For more thorough exercise, see if you can find mistakes :-)
