Vijf jaar Lievelingen op Radio Mi Amigo

Een overzicht van 251 Lievelingen, 1974-1978

Wat voor muziek liet Radio Mi Amigo horen? Een goede indicatie daarvan geven de Mi Amigo Lievelingen. Van de week van 9 maart 1974 tot en met de week van 14 oktober 1978 koos Radio Mi Amigo namelijk wekelijks een song uit als "Lieveling", een plaat die op het station extra aandacht kreeg. Hieronder volgt de complete lijst van 251 nummers, inclusief enkele die wel stonden gepland maar nooit werden uitgezonden. Deze lijst kwam tot stand in samenwerking tussen Theo van Halsema, Hans Knot, Henk Schellevis, Henk Snoey en Jan Fré Vos. Belangrijke correcties en een aanvulling voor de periode van 1 juli tot 20 september 1979 — met nog eens een dozijn songs — werden aangeleverd door Peter Hoogwerf.

Gelukkig viel er op 1 april 1978 als grap nog een extra Lieveling te beluisteren, te weten Dinges en de Dinges Swingers met het nummer "Talamagula," geschreven door Ton van Draanen en wel in een taaltje dat hij zelf had verzonnen. Van Draanen is tegenwoordig overigens werkzaam bij de AVRO als samensteller van het Radio-2-programma Schiffers.fm, zie: www.schiffers.fm.

Een aanvulling. Van 1 juli tot 20 september 1979 was Radio Mi Amigo weer te horen vanaf de MV Mi Amigo (272 mHz). Ook in deze periode werd wekelijks een Lieveling gekozen, waardoor nog eens twaalf titels aan de lijst toegevoegd kunnen worden.

Topscores. Als we de lijst van 251 nummers overzien, dan valt op dat een groot aantal artiesten over de jaren heen meerdere malen voorkomt. De hoogste score — zes nominaties — gaat naar Donna Summer. Vijf keer genoemd worden de Bee Gees. Vier keer vallen de namen van Art Sullivan en Long Tall Ernie en de Shakers. Driemaal genoemd worden Bolland en Bolland, Catapult, Dream Express, Octopus, Ricky Gordon, de Ritchie Family en Second Life. Samen zijn deze elf artiesten of groepen goed voor bijna veertig Lievelingen. Nog eens 24 artiesten worden twee keer genoemd. Bij dit alles moet overigens wel worden opgemerkt, dat er door de platenpluggers soms goed betaald werd om een plaat aan de status van Lieveling te helpen.
